Sorry, but the rough weather made it a poor idea to hold a meeting tonight. The meeting will be re-scheduled and the new date, time and location posted here and on the Yahoo Groups page. Thanks to all of you were planning on attending or who got materials together for the meeting. We will get together soon!

6. Sunday January 28th, 2018 was the date of the last Yard Dogs meeting. Subject material was APRS, and a demonstration of a dirt cheap method of putting together an APRS station was shown. An in-depth discussion of the APRS-IS system was included. The highlight was a method of adding GPS wirelessly to an APRS station. Afterwards we were forced to eat some awesome BBQ. I felt terrible about it but I ate the food anyway.

7. The March 2018 meeting was held at 2PM on March 11th, 2018 at the QTH of W4DEL. The true meaning of the Yard Dogs concept was shown as we were able to further the knowledge of one of our members (and ourselves for that matter). The group must be useful to ALL participants or it does not meet its objective. We enjoyed the meeting and are looking forward to going out and practicing our skills at home.

8. The April 2018 meeting was held April 22th, 2018 at the QTH of W4DEL starting at 3PM. True to our goals, we helped each other learn some new techniques. Today we worked on YAAC, UZ7HO soundmodem and a few other items. Plus, we had a lively discussion about the state of amateur radio! It was great fun on a good day to be inside. After that, a few of us went out to a local steakhouse and enjoyed an excellent meal. We did run into a problem with jar heap files allocations. That set us back a bit.

9. On May 17th, there was a demonstration of Yaesu System Fusion, C4FM and WiRES-X at the Walton County Repeater Group meeting in Between, Georgia. We thank all those who turned out for the meeting and helped make it a success. On display were five mobile radios and three HT’s, plus a WiRES-X modem and a complete node station. A practical demonstration was given as part of the demonstration.
